Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and finmock ("finmock," "we," "us," or "our"), operated as an unincorporated business, regarding your access to and use of the finmock website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") available at finmock.ai.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

finmock provides AI-powered mock interview practice for students and candidates recruiting into finance roles, including Investment Banking, Equity Research, Sales & Trading, Asset Management, and Wealth Management. The Service includes live, voice-based AI mock interviews across multiple interviewer personas and difficulty levels, a searchable library of practice interview questions, and AI-generated scoring and feedback on your interview performance.

finmock is not a recruiting agency, staffing firm, or employment placement service, and does not guarantee that use of the Service will result in a job offer, interview invitation, or any particular outcome with any employer. finmock is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the financial institutions, banks, or firms referenced within the Service's practice questions or materials; such references are used solely for descriptive and educational purposes to reflect realistic interview preparation content.

Interview questions, model answers, AI-generated interviewer responses, scoring, and feedback are produced or assisted by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. The Service is intended as a practice and preparation tool, and nothing in the Service constitutes a guarantee or certification of your interview readiness, technical proficiency, or likelihood of success in any actual interview process. You are solely responsible for how you use and rely on any content or feedback provided through the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and current.

4. Accounts

  • You create an account and sign in using Google Sign-In through our authentication provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account associated with your finmock account and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to notify us promptly at finmock.team@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or are inactive or abusive.

5. Voice Recording and AI Processing

The Service records your spoken voice during live mock interview sessions in order to conduct the interview in real time and generate a text transcript. By starting an interview session, you consent to:

  • The recording and real-time processing of your voice by our AI voice provider;
  • The generation of a text transcript of your interview;
  • The use of artificial intelligence to evaluate your transcript and generate scores and written feedback.

Raw audio of your interview session is not retained after your transcript is generated. Your scoring and feedback — including categories such as confidence, communication clarity, and structure — are generated from the text transcript and related session metadata (such as response timing), not from audio or vocal analysis of the recording itself.

You should not use the Service to conduct an interview session on behalf of, or featuring the voice of, any other individual without their knowledge and consent. Additional detail on how your voice data is collected, processed, and retained is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Fees and Payment

Certain features of the Service may be offered for a fee, either as a one-time (single) payment or as a recurring subscription, as described on the Service at the time of purchase. finmock may offer either or both billing models for different features or plans.

  • All fees are stated in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated, and are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • One-time fees grant access to the specific feature, content, or period described at the time of purchase and do not automatically renew.
  • Subscriptions bill on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually, as specified at signup) and automatically renew at the then-current price until you cancel. You may cancel a subscription at any time through the Billing and Plan section of your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access through that period.
  • Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by applicable law, fees (both one-time and subscription) are non-refundable once payment has processed, except at our discretion or where required by law.
  • We may change our pricing, or add, modify, or discontinue paid plans, at any time. For subscriptions, we will provide reasonable advance notice before a price change takes effect on your next renewal; continued use after that point constitutes acceptance of the new price.
  • Failure to pay a recurring fee when due may result in suspension or downgrade of paid features until payment is resolved.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems;
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the normal operation of the Service, including any attempt to extract, replicate, or redistribute our question bank or AI interview content;
  • Use the Service to impersonate another person, or to record or submit another individual's voice or likeness without their consent;
  • Use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm any other person;
  • Use outputs generated by the Service (including interview transcripts, feedback, or question content) for any commercial purpose without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

8. Your Data and Content

Any information you provide, and any audio, transcript, or content generated from your interview sessions ("User Content"), remains yours. You grant finmock a limited license to store, process, and display that information solely as necessary to operate the Service for you, including transmitting your voice data to our AI service providers to conduct interviews and generate feedback. 9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, question bank content, and AI-generated interview frameworks (excluding User Content), is owned by finmock and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party providers to operate, including hosting and analytics infrastructure (Vercel, including Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights), database and authentication services (Supabase, including Google Sign-In), AI voice processing (ElevenLabs), payment processing (Stripe), and, where applicable, a language model provider for grading and feedback generation. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where relevant. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT, SCORING, FEEDBACK, OR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE. FINMOCK DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR INTERVIEW, RECRUITING, OR EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME FROM USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINMOCK AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITY (INCLUDING ANY INTERVIEW OR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY), ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold finmock harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us at finmock.team@gmail.com.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at finmock.team@gmail.com.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
