Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 13, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how finmock ("finmock," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use finmock.ai and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we use Google Sign-In (via our authentication provider, Supabase) to authenticate you. We receive and store your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by Google, along with any additional profile details you provide within the Service (such as your school or program).
Interview session data. finmock conducts live, voice-based AI mock interviews. In connection with each interview session, we collect and store:
- Your selected track, category, difficulty, and interviewer persona for that session
- Live audio of your spoken responses during the interview, which is processed by our AI voice provider (ElevenLabs) in order to conduct the conversation in real time
- A text transcript of the interview
- AI-generated scoring, category-level feedback, and written evaluation of your performance
- The date, time, and duration of each session
We do not currently collect video or webcam images as part of the interview experience — interviews are audio-only.
Voice data. Your spoken voice during a session is transmitted to our AI voice provider (ElevenLabs) to generate the live conversation and to our transcription service to produce a written transcript. We do not retain raw audio recordings of your interview sessions beyond the processing needed to generate your transcript and feedback — once your transcript is created, the audio recording itself is discarded and is not stored long-term. Your feedback, including category scores such as confidence, is generated from the text transcript and related metadata (such as response timing), not from audio analysis of your voice itself. Because voice data can be considered biometric or sensitive personal information under the laws of some jurisdictions, we only use it briefly to provide the Service to you and do not use it for any other purpose, such as voice cloning, marketing, or sharing with unrelated third parties.
Saved questions and library activity. If you bookmark or save questions from our Question Bank, we store which questions you've saved to your account.
Payment information. If you pay for the Service, payment is handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We receive limited information such as confirmation of payment and billing status — we do not receive or store your full card number.
Usage and analytics data. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the Service performs and is used. These tools may collect information such as pages visited, referring URLs, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and page load performance metrics. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly and does not use persistent cookies to track individuals across sites, but you can review Vercel's own documentation and privacy practices for full detail on what these tools collect.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies or similar local storage technologies necessary for authentication (via Supabase) and basic site functionality. We do not currently use cookies or tracking technologies for advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking purposes. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms as required by applicable law.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including conducting live AI mock interviews;
- Create and manage your account;
- Generate interview transcripts, scores, and personalized feedback;
- Process payments, where applicable;
- Monitor performance and diagnose technical issues (via analytics);
- Communicate with you about your account or updates to the Service;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your voice recordings or interview content to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary for our voice and language providers to deliver the Service to you, as governed by their own data processing terms.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service, under obligations to protect your data, including:
- Vercel (hosting and web analytics)
- Supabase (database storage and authentication)
- ElevenLabs (live AI voice conversation and processing during interviews)
- [INSERT: your grading/language model provider, e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google] (analyzing interview transcripts to generate scores and feedback)
- A payment processor (Stripe)
- Legal authorities, if required to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of finmock, our users, or others;
- A successor entity, if finmock is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — you will be notified of any such change and any choices you may have.
We do not share your interview recordings, transcripts, or performance data with third parties for advertising purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account, interview history, transcripts, and feedback for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete individual interview recordings or transcripts from your account at any time via your account settings. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or security purposes.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you;
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing of your voice data;
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at finmock.team@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information — including biometric information such as voice data — is collected, and to request deletion. If you are located in the EU/UK, processing of your data relies on our legitimate interest in operating the Service or your consent, and you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
(These jurisdiction-specific sections are placeholders based on common requirements — confirm which regimes actually apply once you know your user base. Given voice data is collected, confirm specifically whether you have users in Illinois, Texas, or Washington, which have dedicated biometric privacy statutes with their own consent and disclosure requirements.)
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at finmock.team@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. International Users
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information — including voice data processed during interviews — will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
